AYRSHIRE LADIES COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP - Emma hale leads qualifiers at Western Gailes

Emma Hale (Troon Ladies) shot a superb 72 in very tough conditions to head a field of 90 for the start of the Ayrshire women's county championship at Western Gailes today and leads the qualifiers for the match-play stages.

Hale had one birdie, two bogeys and 15 pars - very good scoring on a day when the CSS was 76 (reduction only).

Defending champion Linzi Allan had a  78 to be the No. 2 seed

Past champions Catherine Malcolm (Prestwick St Cuthbert), Alex Glennie (Kilmarnock Barassie), Liz Keohone (Loudoun Gowf) and Jane Finnie (Troon Ladies) also made it through to the match play stages which start Tuesday morning at 9am.
