SCOTTISH AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP - Moultrie & McKinnon remain from 8 Ayrshire players on day one

Of the eight Ayrshire players in action on day one of the 2013 Scottish Amateur Championship, at Blairgowrie, on Monday 29th July, only Paul Moultrie (Royal Troon) and Ewan McKinnon (Corrie) made it through to the second round.

Paul Moultrie had a one hole win over Ross Kane (Grangemouth) and now faces former winner, and host club member, Glenn Campbell who ended the hopes of Greg Telfer (Prestwick St Cuthbert) with a 4 & 3 win in the first match of the championship.

Ewan McKinnon won an all Ayrshire clash against Stephen Spiers (Brunston castle) at the first extra hole and now faces Cameron Kirkwood (Bearsden) in round 2.

The other first round matches played on Monday involving Ayrshire players were :-

Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) lost to Cameron Nelson (Nairn) by 3 & 2
Louis Murray (Troon Welbeck) lost to Christopher Young (Cardross) by 2 holes
Ciar Porciani (Ayr Belleisle) lost to Stuart McKechnie (Greenburn) by 5 & 3
John Robertson (Western Gailes) lost to Christoper Lamb (Newmacher) by 7 & 5

The remaining nine first round matches involving Ayrshire players are scheduled to be completed on Tuesday.
