GARY BRYDEN MEMORIAL SALVER - Ballochmyle through to championship final

Ballochmyle have booked their place in the final of the scratch club team knockout competition, for the Gary Bryden Memorial Salver, which will be played over their home course during Finals day on Sunday the 1st of September, following a 2-1 away win at Kilmarnock Barassie in the semi final.

In the lead tie John McCracken put Kilmarnock Barassie ahead with a 5&3 win over Craig Hamilton but the match score was ties at 1-1 following Ben Gibson's loss to William Fleming in the other singles tie by a single hole.

The match result thus rested on the foursomes tie between Stuart Miller and sandy walker for the home side and Alan Watson and neil Clapperton of Ballochmyle, which proved to be a very close affair before the Ballochmyle pair won through with a single hole victory.

Balochmyle now await the winners of the other semi final between Royal Troon and Ayr Belleisle.
