AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE - Wallace Thornton Trophy and Under 16 Knockout latest results

The Ayrshire Junior Golf League Wallace Thornton Trophy and Under 16 Knockout Trophy competitions are progressing towards a conclusion, with further matches completed on Friday the 2nd of August.

The finals of both events were due to be held on Sunday the 4th of August but have been postponed due to outastanding fixtures in previous rounds not being concluded on time.

In the Wallace Thornton Trophy Turnberry won through to host Troon Welbeck in the semi finals with a fine 3-1 away win at irvine in the quarter finals.

With four close ties, none of which were concluded before the seventeenth hole, Quintin Dunlop, Findlay Andrew and Euan Forrest secured the necessary points against Sean Byrne, Mason Chisholm and Liam Moran respectively to win the match, with Aidan Hay recording the home side's point in his tie against Gregor Hay.

Troon Welbeck won through to the final of the Under 16 Knockout Trophy competition with a home win over East Ayrshire by 14-4 on the countback by after a 2-2 draw in the match, and now await one of three teams, the winner of the tie between Prestwick St Nicholas or Turnberry, hosting Prestwick St Cuthbert in the semi finals.

The Draw for the semi finals of the Ayrshire Junior Champion of Champions Trophy competition has also been made, with the ties due to be completed by the 18th of August.

Ryan Kennedy (Loudoun) will host Scott newman (Ayrshire Boys Champion) in the finrst semi-final while Finlay Watt (West Kilbride) will be at home to Connor Wills (Ayrshire Boys Matchplay Champion).
