AYRSHIRE SENIOR MEN'S MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP - Defending champion one step away from second title

The defending champion Brian Fisher (Largs) is just one step away from a second successive Ayrshire Senior men's Matchplay Championshoip title after the two semi final matches were completed in recent days.

At home to last years beaten finalist and 2022 winner Alistair Belford (Prestwick St Nicholas) in the semi finals, Brian Fisher edged through by 2&1 to book his final place and continue his  defence of the trophy.

In the final, to be played at Royal Troon on Friday the 9th of August , Brian Fisher will play Colin Watson (Kilmarnock Barassie) after the latter had a 5&4 win at home over Andrew Marshall (Prestwick St Nicholas) in the other semi final.
