Ruben Lindsay |
Lindsay had an opening round of 67, four under par, over the old course at Moray to lead the field by a single shot going into the second round on Tuesday.
He got off to a great start with an eagle three at the par five second hole and a further six birdies in the round at holes 4, 8. 9. 11. 16 & 17 which would have been sensational had it not been tempered by double bogey sixes at the fifth and twelfth holes.
After the two qualifying rounds the championships progress into matchplay which will take place throughout the week, culminating in the finals on Friday
