COACHING UPDATE - Club Coaching grant fund allocation maximised after unprecidented level of applications.

The 2025 Ayrshire Golf Association Club Coaching Grant fund allocation has been maximised after an unprecidented level of applications for funding at this early stage in the season, with further applications for 2025 now closed.

Ten clubs have succesfully secured funding to assist their agreed 'in house' coaching programmes, which will be delivered throughout the season, with a total of close to £3,000 being distributed to assist the clubs in delivering programmes after which the nominated coaching professionals feed back to The Association on conclusion of the coaching delivery.

On Sunday the 16th of March the Elite and Development coaching squads enjoyed fine conditions at the practice facilities at Prestwick Golf Club in the latest Area Coaching Squad session, working on shot shaping and difficult lies, which saw fantastic effort by all the players, with some really impressive shot making on display.

Further coaching sessions for the squads are scheduled before the start of the season, as the first representative fixture of the season looms on Sunday the 30th of March, when a combined junior and youth team defend the Presidents Trophy against The South of Scotland in their anunual fixture, which takes place this year at Troon Darley golf course.
