Twenty one clubs will contest the 2025 Ayrshire Scratch leagues, with three leagues of seven clubs in operation this year.
Details of the 2025 competition have been distributed to club representatives.
For the 2025 season Home and Away fixtures re-instated due to significant feedback against the format used in 2024.
The return to home and away fixtures will mean more ties to be played this year, but the intention is to move to four leagues in 2026, to reduce the fixture numbers.
The composition of the three leagues in 2025 are:-
DIVISION 1
Prestwick St Cuthbert, Kilmarnock Barassie, Irvine, Largs, Royal Troon, Ayr Belleisle, & Turnberry.
DIVISION 2
Loudoun, Ballochmyle, Troon Portland, Caprington, West Kilbride, Prestwick St Nicholas, & Irvine Ravenspark.
DIVISION 3
Ardeer, Troon St Meddans, Redburn, Troon Welbeck, Rowallan Castle, Girvan, & Annanhill.
In 2025 the overall finishing positions will determine which league clubs are in in 2026.
As the play offs have been discontinued, and there are more fixtures to be played this year, the final date for completion of all fixtures in the scratch leagues has been extended in 2025 to Sunday the 14th of September.
All fixture dates should be notified to the league administrator by the 31st of March.
Based on finishing positions in 2025, the projected four league format in 2026 will be:-
2026
Div 1 – Teams 1 - 4 in Div 1 + winner of Div 2.
Div 2 – Teams 2 & 3 in Div 2 + teams 5 – 7 in Div 1.
Div 3 – Teams 4 – 6 in Div 2 + Team 1-2 in Div 3
Div 4 – Team 7 in Division 2 and teams 3 – 7 in Div 3
