US COLLEGE GOLF - Euan Walker well placed in Tiger Invitational

Missouri University Scots Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) and Rory Franssen from Inverness are lying T4 and T13 respectively after the first two rounds of the 54-hole Tiger Invitational at The Club at Old Hawthorne.

The field is 96-strong and the tournament is being played over Missouri's home course (par 72, 7221yd) and their only home tournament of the 2016-17 college season, writes Cal Carson Golf Agency.

Walker, pictured left, coming up to the end of his four-year course Missouri University, has had rounds of 72 and 71 for one-under 143 and is tied with three other players on that mark, which is six behind the leader by three, Austin Crowther (Indiana/Purdue Universities) (67-70).

Euan had birdies at the long sixth and 13th and one bogey, at the long 15th in halves of 35 and 36 in his second round.

Freshman Franssen had five birdies - the second, eighth, 13th, 14th and 16th - but the downside is that he makes too make mistakes and runs up too many bogeys - the third, fifth, seventh, 15th and 18th in his second round - in halves of 37 and 35.

When Rory starts to eliminate the negative, his scores will come on in leaps and bounds.
There are 18 teams in the field and Missouri (578) lead by 11 from Northern Illinois and by 18 from third placed Austin Peay State
