AYRSHIRE GOLF ASSOCIATION AGM - Milton Murray elected County President

At the Ayrshire Golf Association AGM, held at Caprington Golf Club on Monday 22nd October, Milton Murray (LargsGC) was elected President of the association for 2012 - 2014.


A Past Captain of Irvine Ravenspark Golf Club and a member of the county executive since 2005, Milton has been involved in a number of aspects of the work of the association including coaching and team management.

In stepping down from his two years in office, outgoing President David Miller (Kilmarnock Barassie) paid tribute to his Executive members member clubs, their committees and members for their support of The Association over his two year in office.

Ater paying tribute to Past President David Miller and his efforts on behalf of The Association over a number of years, President Murray proposed James McMurdo (Ballochmyle) as Vice President for the next two years, which was unanimously accepted by the meeting.

Members present also unanimously accepted adoption of the new proposed constitution, which had been previously circulated to member clubs, and also accepted adoption of the Presidents Reiport, Financial Report, Coaching Report, Course Rating Report, Ayrshire Junior Golf League Report, and Scottish Golf Union Report.


SGU Rep. Ronnie Potts
Alasdair Malcolm (Prestwick St Nicholas) was re eleceted Secretary & Treasurer of The Association  and Ronnie Potts (Irvine Ravenspark) was elcted as The association's Scottish Golf Union representative.

Retiring members of The Executive, Robert Wilson (Ballochmyle) and Cliff Francis (Troon Welbeck) were re elected to The Executive for a further three year term.

After a number of years of service on The Executive, John Nordbo (Largs) and David McKie (Ballochmyle) retired from The Executive at the meeting, although david McKie will remain involved in a non executive role supporting the course rating team.

The meeting was advised that the SGU per capita would increase from £10 to £10.30 for the forthcoming year whilst it was agreed, on the recommendation of The Executive, that the Ayrshire Golf Association per capita would remain unchanged at 32.20 for the forthcoming year.
