AYRSHIRE ORDER OF MERIT - Super Saturday for McInally as he tops Doc Thom table

It was a case of 'Super Saturday' on the 5th June for Ayrshire Strokeplay Champion Tommy McInally (Loudoun) - pictured right - when he gained full points from not one but two Doc Thom counting events to propel himself into a commanding lead after seven of the fourteen counting events.

At the Ayr Seafield Open McInally posted the best scratch score by a full five shots with a superb three under par 65 to leave four others in the field trailing behind on 70.

A one under par total of 67 at the Loudoun Open gave McInally the best scratch score by a full three shots from five other local players.

McInally has, surprisingly, never won the Doc Thom Ayrshire Order Of merit before but at the halfway stage in this seasons table he presently has over twice the number of points as his nearest rival, title holder Keith Hamilton (Ayr Belleisle), as he bids for his maiden win in the event.
