AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE - Latest update as league Championship qualifying sections near completion

The two qualifying sections in the 2023 Ayrshire Junior Golf League Championship are nearing completion, with only a few fixtures still to be played.

In SECTION A, Irvine have already secured a place in the final, with an unassailable lead in the section.

In the latest fixture completed, Prestwick St Nicholas had a 3.5-2.5 home win over West Kilbride to boost their hopes of finishing in second place in the section.

With the only two remaining fixtures featuring away ties for Prestwick St Nicholas at West Kilbride and Kilmarnock Barassie, present positions in Section A are:-

In SECTION B, East Ayrshire's hopes had mixed fortunes in their latest two fixtures, winning 3.5-2.5 away to Ayr Belleisle but losing by the same margin in their away fixture against Prestwick St Cuthbert.

Four fixtures remain to be played in the section, with Prestwick St Cuthbert still to play Troon Welbeck both home and away, and East Ayrshire away, whilst Troon Welbeck's home fixture result against east Ayrshire has still to be confirmed.

In the AYRSHIRE JUNIOR CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS TROPHY competition Sam Crozier (West Kilbride) had a walkover against Oliver Long (Kilmarnock Barassie) and will now be away to Ryan Kennedy (Loudoun) in the semi final.

The quarter final result between Ayrshire Boys Champion Harvey Broadfoot and his brother Jack Broadfoot (Troon Welbeck) has still to be confirmed, and the winner will progress to the final after the withdrawal of Dylan Cairns (Prestwick St Nicholas) from the competition, at the semi final stage.

The semi finals of the UNDER 16 KNOCKOUT TROPHY competition are due to be completed by the 14th of August. The semi final ties are:-

EAST AYRSHIRE Vs. IRVINE

TURNBERRY Vs. WEST KILBRIDE

The semi finals of the WALLACE THORNTON TROPHY competition are also due to be completed by the 14th of August.
