DOC THOM AYRSHIRE ORDER OF MERIT - Win at Ballochmyle sees Steven McEwan lead title chase with one event to play

Steven McEwan (Caprington) has moved into the lead in the chase for the Doc Thom Salver and Ayrshire Order of Merit title for 2022, following a second successive 36 hole event win at Ballochmyle recently.

A two round total of 136 in the Ballochmyle Rosebowl at the end of August gave him a two stroke victory and full points for the order of merit, which saw him overtake Scott brown (Turnberry) at the top of the table.

A joint eighth place finish in the Ballochmyle Rosebowl was sufficient to move Steven Stamper into third place.

Five players now go into the final event, The Arrol Cup at Prestwick St Nicholas on Saturday the 17th of September, with a chance to take the 2022 title.
