With the 16 best placed players available from the field in the Ayrshire Strokeplay Championship, the cut for the 2018 Matchplay Championship fell at 154, with one of two plaes on that score getting a starting place in the line up.
The new Ayrshire Strokeplay Champion Jim Johnston (Ayr Belleisle) faces Neil Black of the host club in the opening round, whilst the second qualifier Scott Brown (Prestwick St Cuthbert) plays Aiden Long (Ayr Belleisle).
Former winners Tommy McInally (Loudoun) and Michael Smyth (Royal Troon) play william Fleming (Ballochmyle) and Graeme Gimson (Prestwick St Cuthbert) respectively in round one.
Ties will be played on successive evenings, from 5.00 p.m., with the opening round on Monday 7th and the final on Thursday 10th May.
The reserves are John Rushbury (Royal Troon) and Steven Stamper (Turnberry).
