WEST OF SCOTLAND INTER COUNTY LEAGUES - Ayrshire score county double over Stirlingshire

For the second week in succession, the Ayrshire A and Youths teams both had wins over their opponents, this time from Stirlingshire, on Sunday 4th October.

The A team, playing at Prestwick St Nicholas, maintained their 100% record in this years matches, with a 5.5 - 2.5 win.

Jack McDonald halved the leading match before Steven Wallace, Keith Hamilton and Craig Hamilton put the home side in a strong position with 4 & 3 wins in their respective ties, and Michael Smyth secured a win for the home side with the same winning score in his match.

Despite losses for Stuart Robin and Scott Brown, John shanks finished off an impressive performance by Ayrshire with a 2 & 1 win in the anchor tie.

After bouncing back with a win last week, after their opening match defeat the week before, the Ayrshire Youths side traveled to Callander to play Stirling Youths and returned a notable win away from home by 5 - 3.

Ayrshire took the first two ties to lead but after completion of six ties the match stood at 3 - 3, before 4 & 3 wins by Sandy Walker and Jordan Fraser in the anchor ties secured a win for the visiting Ayrshire side.

Next Sunday, 11th October, the Ayrshire teams face Lanarkshire. The A team are away from home at Lanark Golf Club whilst the Youths play host to their oponents at Brunston Castle
