SCOTTISH OPEN STROKEPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP - McDonald top Scot as Porteous takes title

Ayrshire's Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) finished top Scot at the Scottish Open Strokeplay Championship at Southerness on Sunday as halfway leader Garrick Porteous from England remained in front to take the title.

McDonald finished with closing rounds of 72 & 68 for a 7 over par total of 283, and sixth place overall,six shots behind the winner.

Charlie Macneal
Ayrshire's other qualifier for the final two rounds, Charlie Macneal (Prestwick) had closing rounds of 71 and 70 for a 13 over par total of 289 which hoisted him up to a share of 11th place overall.
