AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE - Kilmarnock (Barassie) & Annanhill book semi final places


Kilmarnock (Barassie) and Annanhill are the first teams through to the semi finals of the 2010 Ayrshire Junior Golf League Championship.

Competing in SECTION B, the Barassie team had a 4.5 - 1.5 win at Irvine Ravenspark and a 6 - 0 win in the corresponding home match, and concluded their matches with a 3 - 3 draw at West Kilbride, having previously beaten their opponents by 4.5 - 1.5 at Barassie.

West Kilbride pushed Barassie all the way, with 6 - 0 wins over Irvine Ravenspark both home and away.

Final placings in the section were :-

KILMARNOCK (BARASSIE) - Played 4 - 14 pts
WEST KILBRIDE - Played 4 - 10 pts
IRVINE RAVENSPARK - played 4 - 0 pts

In SECTION A, Annanhill are throught after away wins at Troon St Meddans, by 3.5 - 2.5, and Prestwick St. Nicholas, by 4.5 - 1.5. St. Meddans secured their first points of the campaign with a 4 - 2 win against local rivals Troon Welbeck, which also ended Welbeck hopes of overtaking Annanhill.

Present positions in the section are :-

ANNANHILL - Played 4 - 16 pts
TROON WELBECK - Played 5 - 10 pts
TROON ST MEDDANS - Played 4 - 4 pts
PRESTWICK ST NICHOLAS - Played 3 - 2 pts

Annanhill have a remaining home match against Prestwick St. Nicholas and an away game against Troon Welbeck whilst St Nicholas and St. Meddans
have still to play each other both home and away.

In SECTION C, the only result returned so far is Ayr Belleisle's 4.5 - 1.5 win at Largs.

In SECTION D, Ardeer boosted their chances of qualification with a 4 - 2 home win over Prrestwick St. Cuthbert and an away win at Ballochmyle by the same margin.

St. Cuthbert completed a 100% home record with a 5 - 1 win over Loudoun.

ARDEER - Played 4 - 12 pts
PRESTWICK ST CUTHBERT - Played 6 - 12 pts
LOUDOUN - Played 3 - 4 pts
BALLOCHMYLE - Played 3 - 4 pts

Ardeer have a home match against Ballochmyle and an away match against Loudoun remaining, whilst Loudoun and Ballochmyle have still to meet both home and away.
