DOC THOM AYRSHIRE ORDER OF MERIT - McEwan still leads with two events to go

Steven McEwan (Caprington) still leads the Ayrshire Order Of Merit for the Doc Thom Salver, as the event reaches a conclusion with the final two counting events this month, at Largs Routenburn and Prestwick St. Nicholas, although his lead has been trimmed to the narrowest of margins at 0.5 points.

Michael Smyth (Royal Troon) leaped into contention by taking maximum points at the Welbeck Links competition.

With the results of the Largs Routenburn event at the weekend still to be recorded, all eyes turn to the final event, The Arrol Cup, at Prestwick St. Nicholas on Saturday 20th September, where the destination of the 2008 Doc Thom award will be decided.
