The 2004 Ayrshire Golf Association Summer League competition is rapidly progressing to the quarter final stages, as teams compete in the final sectional matches over the next couple of weeks.

In League 1, West Kilbride maintained a challenge to leaders Loudoun after a 4.5 - 1.5 home win over Turnberry. West Kilbride face a crunch match in their next scheduled fixture away to Loudoun. Current positions in League 1 are :-

In League 2, NACCO have been on the receiving end of two away defeats by 5 - 1 at Annanhill and Kilbirnie recently. Present positions are :-

Annanhill and Kilbirnie meet at Kilmarnock in the next series of matches, in what could prove to be a decisive fixture in the section.

In League 3, Welbeck further dented the hopes of defending champions, Ballochmyle, with a 4-2 home win over the holders. Present positions are :-

BALLOCHMYLE 3/1/0/2/9/9/0/4
IRVINE 2/1/0/1/4.5/7.5/-3/4

With only two fixtures remaining in the section, Ballochmyle must beat Bogside in their final match to have any hope of progressing, whilst Bogside will be looking for a result in their penultimate fixture, before playing host to Troon Welbeck in the final match in the section.

In League 4, Barassie kept the pressure on the leaders, caprington, with a 4-2 win away at Ayr Belleisle.

CAPRINGTON 3/2/1/0/10.5/7.5/+3/10
BARASSIE 3/2/0/1/10/8/+2/8
BELLEISLE 4/0/1/3/9.5/14.5/-5/2

Barassie and Caprington meet in the final match of the section, at Barassie, with the winner of the match destined to top the section.

In League 5 no further match results have been played this week. Present positions are :-

TEAM P/W/D/L/F/A/Dif/Pts
ST. MEDDANS 3/3/0/0/11.5/6.5/+5/12
RAVENSPARK 2/1/0/1/7.5/4.5/+3/4

Ravenspark still maintain a hope of winning the section, with a visit to Tam O Shanter in their penultimate match being followed by a home match in their final game, against St. Meddans, which could prove to be a section decider.
