In one of the two preliminary ties, Stephen Murray (Troon Portland) defeated Campbell McCluskie (Crosshouse) and in Round 1 will host the winner of the other preliminary tie, due to be completed by the 30th of May, between Steven McEwan (Caprington and Michael Smyth (Royal Troon).
In the first round of the competition the Holder Craig Hamilton (Ballochmyle) beat William McGill (Irvine Ravenspark) by 2 & 1 over the Ravenspark course, to progress to round 2.
Also through to round 2 are Andrew Thomson (Routenburn) and Mark Watt (Prestwick St Cuthbert), who received walkovers from Simon Berrie (Prestwick St Nicholas) and Andrew Irvine (Troon Welbeck) respectively.
All remaining first round ties are due to be completed by the 13th of June at the very latest.
