AYRSHIRE LADIES GOLF - Skelmorlie pair win County Winter Foursomes

The final of the Ayrshire Ladies County Golf Association winter foursomes competition, for the Cairo Cup, was played on Tuesday 10th March 2015 at Troon Portland, with the Skelmorlie GC pair of Kath MacKellar and Irene Papworth taking the title.

The trophy winners reached the final with a win over County Captain Sheila Adams and her partner Aileen Anderson, and in the final came up against Alex Glennie & Ann Edgar (Kilmarnock Barassie), who booked their final spot with a semi final win over Mara Lindsay & Ann MacGillivray (Prestwick St Nicholas).

The final between the Skelmorlie and Kilmarnock (Barassie) pairings was keenly contested throughout with the Skelmorlie due winning on the final green.

County captain Sheila Adams congratulated the Cairo Cup winners from Skelmorlie on their victory at the conclusion of the match.
