EUROPEAN MENS TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP - Scotland defeated by Germany

Scotland's hopes of the 2011 Eurpean team Championships were dashed on Thursday when they crashed to defeat by Germany in the quarter finals.

Scotland made a promising start against the second seeds, winning the morning foursomes by 2 - 0.

Needing only two pints from five in the afternoon singles, Scotland only manage one win from the five matches, resulting in a 4 - 3 defeat. Germany now go on to play France in the semi finals.
