SCOTTISH BOYS STROKEPLAY - McDonald shares first round lead

As joint leader after the first round of the 2009 Scottish Boys Strokeplay Championship being played at Ladybank this week, Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) is on the way to extending an excellent season, which has already seen him in the quarter finals of the Scottish boys’ Championship and a two times winner in the SGU Junior Tour as well as gaining a first international cap.

Along with Elliot Wilson (Berwick upon Tweed) McDonald returned a two under par 69 to become the only two pklayers in the field to better the par of 71 all day.

Marc Smith (Troon Welbeck) was the next best Ayrshire player on 74.
