AYRSHIRE YOUTHS - Youth team defeated by Florida State


An Ayrshire Youths side were defeated 3.5 - 1.5 by the Florida State University team on the opening day of their tour of Scotland, on Sunday 3rd August.

The University side, who are scheduled to play a number of links courses during their trip, including Turnberry, Carnoustie, Muirfield and North Berwick, are all + 1 handicappers.

They opened their schedule with a round at Turnberry (Kintyre) on Saturday before Sunday's match at the birthplace of The Open Championship, at Prestwick.


The match proved a friendly and worthwhile encounter for both sides, with the players enjoying the match in glorious weather.

Jamie Mackay (Kilmarnock Barassie) beat Seath Lauer by 3 & 2

Scott Brown (Turnberry) lost to Cameron Knight by 1 hole

Graeme Gimson (Prestwick St. Cuthbert) lost to Bradley Ruch by 3 & 1 (pictured right)
