Jaffrey, a former Scottish U18 girls champion, with rounds of 71,75 and 73 for an aggregate of
three-over-par 219, earned the second individual win of her US college golf career and the
13th individual title in K-State women's golf history. The Wildcats shot a 50-over par 914 for
the tournament, finishing one shot back of Augusta for second place and 19 behind team
title winners Texas Christian University.
“Connie played exceptionally well on a very difficult course,” said head coach Kristi Knight.
“I am very proud of her and this entire team. A top-three finish in this field is great.”
The Wildcats earned their second top-three finish in as many tournaments after winning the
Chip-N Club Invitational at the end of September.
GB and I Curtis Cup player Alice Hewson from Berkhamsted, a student at Clemson University,
tied for second place with ever improving rounds of 76, 74 and 71 for 221 - two behind
winner Jaffrey.
Emmy Martin (Texas Christian) shared second place with Alice.
Kansas State sophomore Chloe Weir from Northern Ireland finished the tournament at
16-over par 232 and tied for 23rd place, which included a 3-over par 75 in the final round.
Her earlier scores were 80 and 77.
Also on the 232 mark was Jessica Carty (Denver), also from Northern Ireland. Jessica had
rounds of 81, 75 and 76.
Scot Rachel Walker (Old Dominion) from Dumfries finished T74 on 245 with rounds of 81, 77
and 87.
Sopie Newlove (Denver) from Nottingham finished 79th in a field of 92. She scored 84, 80
and 84 for 248.
Texas Christian University led wire-to-wire and won the event with a score of 31-over par 895.
