AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE - Kilmarnock (Barassie) & Irvine lead the way


Kilmarnock (Barassie) have stormed to the top of Section A, in the chase for the 2014 Ayrshire Junior Golf League Championship.
In their opening match of the campaign the Barassie team had a 4 – 2 home win over previously undefeated West Kilbride which they followed with 4.5 – 1.5 away wins over the two Prestwick clubs, St Nicholas and St Cuthbert.

After two good home wins in their opening matches, West Kilbride faultered with their defeat at Kilmarnock (Barassie) and a 5.5 – 0.5 defeat away at Prestwick St Nicholas.

In Section B, Irvine remain at the top of the table, despite defeats by 4.5 – 1.5 away to Loudoun and at home to Ayr Belleisle.
Following their opening match defeat to Ayr belleisle, defending champions Troon Welbeck got their challenge back on track with a 3 – 3 draw away to Caprington and a 5 – 1 win in the corresponding home fixture against the Kilmarnock club.
