SGU JUNIOR TOUR - Rowallan Castle event cut to 36 holes due to flooding

The heavy rain that hit Ayrshire on Saturday resulted in the SGU Junior Tour event being held at Rowallan Castle GC being reduced from 72 to 36 holes.

Players completed their morning rounds on Saturday but the afternoon round was abandoned due to flooding on the course.

Hopes of playing 36 holes on Sunday were also dashed due to the resulting conditions but in the event the cometitors were able to complete one round on Sunday, with the result of the event being decided over the 36 holes.

Bob McIntyre (Glencruitten) won the curtailed event with a two round total of 146 (73 - 73), four over par.

Best placed of the four Ayrshire players in the field was Boys internationalist Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) who finished 10th on 154 (78 - 76), 12 over par.

Charlie Macneal (Troon Welbeck) (76 - 79) and Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) (74 - 81) finished tied 11th on 155, 13 over par whilst Scottish Boys Champion David Wilson (Troon Welbeck) finished in 34th place on 166 (85 - 81).
