SGU JUNIOR TOUR - McEwan wins latest event at Newmacher

Steven McEwan Kilmarnock (Barassie) continued his impressive form in the SGU Junior Tour with victory at Newmachar on Saturday.

His four shot win from clubmate Robert McKnight follows on from two third place finishes at Kilmarnock (Barassie) and Cardrona.

In wet and windy conditions McEwan fired rounds of 72 and 73 around the testing Hawkshill course for a total of 145 to deny McKnight a second Junior Tour win. Dollar’s Scott Borrowman finished in third place on 151 after shooting the only sub par score of the day in the second round.

The results sees all three players make significant moves up the Junior Ranking with Steven McEwan, Scott Borrowman and Robert McKnight now lying 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the table respectively. Fraserburgh's British Boys Champion Jordan Findlay retains a healthy advantage at the top of the ranking.

The three remaining Junior Tour events are:

Scottish Youths Championship, Glenbervie - 17 to 19 June
Scottish Boys Under 16 Championship, Longniddry - 5 to 7 July
Scottish Boys Stroke Play Championship, Monifieth - 19 to 21 July
