WEST OF SCOTLAND UNDER 18 LEAGUE - Ayrshire snatch draw against holders in opening match

Ayrshire under 18's opened their 2007 bid for the Wishart Trophy and West Of Scotland Under 18 title on Sunday 20 May, with a 4 - 4 draw against the defending champions, Renfrewshire, at Whitecraigs.

With some players opting to play in the Hillhouse Cup at Royal Troon, rather than playing in the county match, the opportunity was taken to bring in some new players from the coaching squads and the newcomers acquited themselves very well to secure a notable point away from home.

Scott Brown (Brunston Castle) beat Sam Binning (Ranfurly Castle) by 5 & 4
Adam Foley (Ayr Belleisle) lost to Jonathon Caldwell (Greenock) by 5 & 3
Michael Roos (West Kilbride) beat Colin Thomson (East Renfrewshire) by 3 & 2
