100 NOT OUT ! - Loudoun member Jim Richmond celebrates birthday milestone in style

Retired Kilmarnock dentist Jim Richmond has just celebrated his 100th birthday in style with several parties over the last few days – at Rugby Park , at Kilmarnock Probus Club, and at Loudoun Gowf Club.
Jim has been a season ticket holder at Rugby Park for many years and rarely misses a home game. As the longest serving supporter of the Club, he was an honoured guest at a dinner held in the Park Hotel for notable former players.

On 21 February this year, the actual day of his birth in 1917, Jim  was the star attraction at the Probus Club lunch in Kilmarnock.

Next day at Loudoun Gowf Club Jim  had to cut yet another birthday cake as the Club celebrated this momentous event in the life of its oldest member.

Club Captain Barry McGougan welcomed over 70 members who came along to share in this happy occasion, and Deputy Lieutenant Frank Donnelly presented Jim with the royal telegram.

Jimmy made a very sincere thank-you speech and John Campbell, Deputy Provost of East Ayrshire, awarded Jim a commemorative present on behalf of East Ayrshire Council.

The cake, baked by Club member Liz Keohone, was then cut and consumed to end a very pleasant event in the annals of Loudoun Gowf Club.
