In the AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP, matches in
both qualifying sections are under way.
In SECTION A, despite a 3.5-2.5 away defeat by East Ayrshire,
Irvine presently lead the way as a result of a recent 4.5-1.5 home win over
Troon Welbeck.
In the other fixture in the section played recently, Turnberry
shared the spoils with their visitors from Prestwick St Nicholas in a 3-3 draw.

In SECTION B Kilmarnock Barassie lead after 4 – 2 wins at
home to West Kilbride and away at Prestwick St Cuthbert. In the two fixtures
between Ayr Belleisle and West Kilbride it was the home teams that recorded
wins, by 5-1 at Belleisle and 4-2 at West Kilbride.

Qualifying sections continue until the 27th of
July with the section winners going forward to contest the League Championship
final.
In the UNDER 16 KNOCKOUT TROPHY competition, Prestwick St
Nicholas secured their place in the last four with a 3-1 home win over
Annanhill.
With the result of the Irvine vs Ayr Belleisle match still
to be confirmed, the winner will join Prestwick St Nicholas, Kilmarnock
Barassie and Troon Welbeck in the draw for the semi finals.
In the scratch team knockout competition for THE WALLACE
THORNTON TROPHY, a 2.5-1.5 away win at Kilmarnock Barassie gave Troon Welbeck a
place in the semi finals alongside Turnberry, Irvine and West Kilbride.
In the AYRSHIRE JUNIOR CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS TROPHY
competition Liam Moran (Irvine) won his first round tie at home to Sandi
Rogerson (Kilmarnock Barassie) by 2&1 to set up a visit to play Ethan
McMurdo (Prestwick St Nicholas) in the quarter finals.
Josh Erskine (Caprington) hosts Orla Moran (Irvine) in
another quarter final, while Finlay Watt (West Kilbride) and Euan Forrest
(Turnberry) have booked their places in the semi finals with home wins, by
2&1 and 5&4 against Gregor Hay (Ayr Belleisle) and Quintin Dunlop
(Ayrshire Boys matchplay Champion) respectively in the quarter finals.
