AYRSHIRE HANDICAP LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP - New competition to be trialed in 2017

Following suggestions from member clubs, it has been agreed by the Ayrshire Golf Association Executive to trial an Ayrshire Handicap League Championship this season.

A letter and entry form, along with a copy of the rules of the competition have been forwarded to all member clubs by email.

Any club who has not received the information should contact the Area Secretary for a copy to be forwarded.

Clubs will be drawn into qualifying section of no more than six clubs and will play matches home and away within the section From April to the end of July.

Each match will involve six players from each club. There will be no limit on the number of players that a club can use during the series of matches.

The winners of each section will progress to home and away matchplay knockout stages, with the final of the competition to be scheduled for a nominated course in September.

The exact composition and number of qualifying sections, and the number of knockout rounds, will be decided once the number of entrants is known

The closing date for entries to the competition is 28th February and entry fee is £25.
