AYRSHIRE CHAMPIONSHIPS - Entries close on Saturday for three events

Tomorrow, Saturday 31st January, is the closing date for entries into three of the Ayrshire Golf Association 2015 major competitions.



Entries for the Champion Of Champions Trophy competition, The Ayrshire Fourball Championship and the Ayrshire Scratch Leagues should be submitted to the Area Secretary by this date, for inclusion in the relevant draws and league tables.

AYRSHIRE BOYS CHAMPIONSHIP - Entry forms now available for West Kilbride

The 2015 Ayrshire Boys Championship will be held on Thursday 6th August at the West Kilbride Golf Club, and entry forms are now available.

The forms can be downloaded via the link on this web page, and have been emailed to club secretaries, to be made available to members.

In the event of an over subscribed entry, ballot will be on a handicap basis.


The top 8 players in the championship will go forward to contest the Ayrshire Boys Matchplay Championship at Prestwick Golf Club from 11th to 13th August.

2014 Matt Lygate Trophy winners - Irvine GC
Entry forms are now available for the traditional opener to the Ayrshire golf season, the Ayrshire Boys Team Championship.

This year the championship takes place at Ayr Seafield golf course on Sunday 19th April.

Irvine Golf Club are the holders of the Matt Lygate Trophy and Ayrshire Boys Team Champions title whilst Ballochmlye will defend the Andrew D Nimmo Trophy as handicap winners.

AYRSHIRE SENIORS CHAMPIONSHIP - Entry forms now available for County Seniors Championship

The 2015 Ayrshire Seniors Championship will take place at Irvine Ravenspark Golf Club on Tuesday 14th July, and entry forms are now available.

The forms can be downloaded via the link on this web page, and have been emailed to club secretaries, to be made available to members.

Places in the field will be allocated on a first come first served basis, up to the maximum permitted entry, so prospective competitors are urged to submit their entries in good time.

CLUB COACHING - Club Coaching Grant scheme now open for 2015

The Ayrshire Golf Association Club Coaching Grant scheme has been extended to 2015 and applications for the grant are now invited. 

Clubs can, on the approval of an agreed plan, be awarded a grant of up to £150 by The Association to assist in the provision of a coaching scheme for their club juniors.

After approval, and completion of the coaching provision, payment of the agreed sum is made direct by The Association to the coach involved.

Funds for the scheme are limited so clubs are encouraged to submit their applications for approval as soon as possible.

Application forms have been emailed to club secretaries and the form is also available to download from the Ayrshire Golf Association web page, via the appropriate link.

AYRSHIRE STROKEPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP - Entry forms now available

The 2015 Ayrshire Strokeplay Championship will take place at Loudoun Gowf Club on Sunday 26th April, and entry forms are now available.

The forms can be downloaded via the link on this web page, and have been emailed to club secretaries, to be made available to members.

In the event of an over subscribed entry, ballot will be on a handicap basis.

The top 16 players in the championship will go forward to contest the Ayrshire Matchplay Championship at Prestwick St. Cuthbert G.C. from 4th to 7th of May.
