A final round of 72, after opening rounds of 67 and 70, gave Kennedy a four under par total of 209 for the tournament and a two stroke victory over the top Scot, John Lawrie (Glasgow) who returned rounds of 67, 70, and 74 for \ two under par total of 211.
Three Ayrshire players made the cut after two rounds.
Paul Moultrie (Royal Troon) finished in joint 17th placre on 217, 4 over par, following rounds of 72, 71, and 74.
Jim Shearer (West Kilbride) was joint 51st on 224, 11 over par, with rounds of 72, 74, and 78 while Robert Jenkins (Royal Troon) was a shot further back in joint 54th place with rounds of 70, 75, and 80 for a 12 over par total of 225.
