AYRSHIRE MEN'S HANDICAP LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP - Ties continue as qualifying sections progress towards a conclusion

Ties are progressing in the eight Ayrshire Men’s Scratch League Championship qualifying sections, as clubs bid for a place in the quarter final knockout stages which commence in mid July.

In LEAGUE 1, Largs and Portmann are locked at the top of the table with nine fixtures still to play, following Largs’ 5-1 home win over Royal Troon and Portman’s two 4-2 away wins at Royal Troon and Tam O Shanter.

In LEAGUE 2, Kilbirnie Place moved to the top of the table after a 4-2 home win over Annanhill.

In LEAGUE 4, there is still everything to play for with five fixtures still to be completed.

Irvine moved into joint top spot recently with a 3.5-2.5 home win over league leaders Prestwick St Nicholas.

In LEAGUE 5, Ballochmyle’s qualification hopes suffered a setback in their latest fixture when they lost 4.5-1.5 on their visit to play Golf South Ayrshire.

With three fixtures remaining to be played, Ballochmyle face a home match against Golf South Ayrshire and visits to Troon St Meddans, and a potential qualification decider away to Troon Welbeck.

In LEAGUE 6, Ayr Seafield and Crosshouse are tied on points at the top of the table after Crosshouse lost their latest fixture by 4.5-1.5 away to Stewarton. With just three fixtures remaining, the two matches between Ayr Seafield and Stewarton will be pivotal in deciding who will go through to the quarter finals.

In LEAGUE 7, Auchenharvie lead the table with four fixtures in the league remaining to be completed, though their qualification hopes received a setback in their latest fixture where they were defeated 4.5-1.5 at home to Ardeer. North Beach’s qualification hopes also received a setback recently with a 3.5-2.5 defeat \away to Redburn.

In LEAGUE 8, Irvine Ravenspark moved clear at the top of the table following a 3-3 draw away at Loudoun, while Moorpark bounced back from defeat in their opening fixture to record a 3.5-2.5 away win over Prestwick St Cuthbert in their second fixture of the campaign recently.

With five fixtures still remaining to be completed, and Moorpark featuring in four of these, present positions in League 8 are:-
