AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE - semi final draws made for three competitions

The semi-final draws for three Ayrshire Junior Golf League were made recently as the various competitions move towards the finals days in August.

In the AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP, qualifying SECTION A is presently led by Irvine, with a quarter of the twenty league fixtures completed.

In SECTION B, West Kilbride won their latest fixture away to Prestwick St Cuthbert by 5-1 to keep the pressure on league leaders Kilmarnock Barassie, with half of the twelve league fixtures completed. Present positions in Section B are:-

In the UNDER 16 KNOCKOUT COMPETITION, Irvine booked their semi final place with a 2.5-1.5 home win over Ayr Belleisle.

The semi final draw, with ties due to be completed by the 27th of July, paired Irvine at home to Prestwick St Nicholas and Kilmarnock Barassie at home to Troon Welbeck.

In the scratch team knockout competition for the WALLACE THORNTON TROPHY semi finals Troon Welbeck will be at home to Turnberry and West Kilbride will host Irvine, with ties to be completed by the 27th of July.

In the JUNIOR CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS TROPHY competition, Liam Moran (Irvine) beat Sandi Rogerson (Kilmarnock Barassie) by 2&1 to book a quarter final place and will visit Ethan McMurdo (Prestwick St Nicholas) in the quarter finals. Orla Moran (Ayrshire Girls Strokeplay Champion) received a walkover from Josh Erskine (Caprington) in their quarter final match.

The semi final draw, with ties to be completed by the 27th of July, sees Finlay watt (West Kilbride) host Euan Forrest (Turnberry) and the winner of the tie between Ethan McMurdo and Liam Moran will host Orla Moran.
