Scotland suffered their second successive 8 - 7 defeat on day 2 of the Home Internationals at Ashburnham GC, Wales, on Thursday.
Facing England on the second day of competition, Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) retained his unbeaten record in the series.
Again partnering Ross Kellett in the morning foursomes, Stewart had a half match with Tommy Fleetwood & Laurie canter as the Scotland team went in 3.5 - 1.5 down at lunch. Stewart beat Tom Lewis 3&1 in the afternoon singles which Scotland fouught back to take 5.5 - 4.5. This was not however enought to prevent a 8 - 7 defeat overall.
In Thursday's other match, Ireland defeated Wales by 8.5 - 6.5.
On the final day of play on Friday, Scotland face Ireland and England take on Wales.
