The Ayrshire side led early in the morning foursomes before the hosts fought back. All three foursomes ties were concluded on the final green but the eighteenth hole proved costly to the Ayrshire side, with the hosts winning the hole twise and halving the last in the other match to take a 2.5-0.5 lead into the six afternoon singles.
Despite a brave effort in the singles, the afternoon round of matches were shared 3-3, giving Glasgow victory by 5.5 - 3.5 overall.
In the other match in the section perth & Kinross looked on track to top the section and progress to the finals weekedn after taking all three foursomes in the morning against Lothians, but in a dramatic turnaround in the afternoon, Lothians won the singles 5-1 to win the match 5-4.
As a result it was Glasgow that progressed to the finals weekeind in September at Elgin, along with Renfrewshire, Fife and North.
