SCOTTISH GIRLS' CHAMPIONSHIP - Three players carry Ayrshire hopes into championship last sixteen.

Three Ayrshire players have qualified for the matchplay championship play off stages of the 2025 Scottish Girls' Championship being played at the Kings course in Inverness from the 18th to the 20th of July.

The 36 hole strokeplay qualifying rounds took place on Friday the 18th with Abigail May (St Regulus) leading the qualifiers on 136, 8 under par.

Best for Ayrshire was Jodie Graham (Royal Troon) who was third equal on 140, 4 under par, with rounds of 67 & 73.

Hannah Ounap (Loudoun) was a shot further back in 5th equal place on 141, 3 under par, following rounds of 71 & 70.

Orla Moran (Irvine) also qualified comfortably for the matchplay stages in ninth spot on 150 , 6 over par, after successive rounds of 75.

The other two Ayrshire players in the field, both from Kilmarnock Barassie) finished in joint 31st and 32nd places respectively.

Sophie Jordan had rounds of 87 and 84 for a 27 over par total of 171 while sandi Rogertson was two shots further back on 173, 29 over par, following rounds of 87 & 86.

In the first round of the matchplay on Saturday morning, Orla Moran faces Kaci Robertson (Nairn Dunbar), Jodie Graham plays Megan Fallon (Broomieknowe) and Hannah Ounap is up against Summer Xie (Swanston).

Sophie Jordan has also progressed to the second flight matchplay competition, where she will face a first round match on Saturday against Rita Murphy (Murrayfield)
