In the opening round Dominic faced John Rushbury (Royal Troon) over the Ailsa course at Turnberry where he raced to a four hole lead at the turn and extended the lead to five at the eleventh. John's chances faded when he missed birdie putts at the 12th and 13th, and a further short birdie putt missed at the 14th by John gave Dominic a 5&4 victory.
Dominic now faces an away tie against either Stuart Miller (Kilmarnock Barassie) or title holder Brian Fisher (Largs) in the semi final.
The other semi finals will see Stephen King (Prestwick St Nicholas) or George J Robertson (Irvine) host either Colin Watson (Kilmarnock Barassie) or Barrie McDonnell (Caprington).
The remaining three first round ties are due to be completed by Wednesday the 23rd of July, with the semi finals due to be played by Wednesday the 6th of August, ahead of the final at Royal Troon on the evening of Friday the 15th of August.
