The Lomond Property Ayrshire Men's Matchplay Championship title holder Harvey Broadfoot (Royal Troon) bowed out of this years competition at the quarter final stage, when the latest round of matches took place at Ballochmyle Golf Club on Tuesday the 6th of May.
Scott Brown (Prestwick St Cuthbert) ended Harvey Broadfoot's hopes of retaining the trophy with a birdie four at the final hole for a single hole victory in their quarter final tie.
In the semi finals on Wednesday evening, the 7th of May, Scott Brown will play Alan McLean (Largs) who won through to the last four with a par four at the first extra hole in his match against Adam Sweeney (Prestwick St Cuthbert).
The other two quarter final matches finished on the sixteenth green with 3 & 2 victories, John Haggarty (Loudoun) and John Shanks (Irvine) progressing to meet in the semi finals at the expense of Joe McSorley (Prestwick St Cuthbert) and Graeme Gimson (Prestwick St Cuthbert) respectively.
