The defending champion Aidan Long (Ayr Belleisle) lost out by 2&1 on his visit to play Fraser Innes (Largs), who now plays host to Harvey Broadfoot (Ayrshire Matchplay Champion) who received a walkover in round two from Iain Girvan (Muirkirk).
Also ourt in round two is 2023 winner Craig Hamilton (Ballochmyle) who was beaten by 4&3 on his visit to play Andrew J Gibson (Caprington). Gibson now hosts Alasdair Berry (Irvine Ravenspark) in the third round after Berry won by 2&1 on his visit to play Brian McGarrity (Drongan).
Multiple winner of the trophy Tommy McInally (Loudoun) also bowed out in round two, losing his away tie against Darren Young (Crosshouse) by a single hole.
John R. Anderson (Skelmorlie) hosted Graeme Gimson (Prestwick St Cuthbert) in round two and defeated his visitor by 4&3.
Gary Burgess (Troon Welbeck) was also a home winner, beating John Hardgreaves (Auchenharvie 88) by 5&3, while an epic tie between Scott Chesney (Kilbirnie Place) and Scott Bell (West Kilbride) played at Kilbirnie Place was eventually decided in Scott Chesney's favour at the third extra hole.
Also through to round three is Patrick Smiley (Prestwick St Nicholas) who received a walkover from Andy Armour (Malletsheugh).
There are six second round ties still to be completed by Sunday the 25th of May.
