Michael Smyth (Royal Troon) is one of 8 Scottish players who qualified to play the final rounds of the 2011 Lytham Trophy being played this weekend.
Smyth, who lost out on the Ayrshire Strokeplay title last week after a play off, was the best placed Scot after an opening round of 73 put him in second place, but an 82 in the second round pushed him down the leaderboard but still ensured his qualifiaction for the final two rounds.

Scottish Champion Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) withdrew prior to the start of the tournament with a wrist injury.
