FAIRHAVEN TROPHIES - Ayrshire pair in winning Nations Cup team


Connie Jaffrey (Troon ladies) and Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) combined with Lawrence Allan (Alva) to win the Nations Cup, contested over the first 36 holes, at the Fairhaven Trophies Golf Tournament at Fairhaven Golf Club in Lancashire this week.

The winning Scotland team trio returned a team total of 303, Connie Jaffrey scoring 77-83, Jack McDonald recording 73-75 and Lawrence Allan adding 78-77. England finished one shot further back on 304.

In the individual event, Jack McDonald lies in joint second place at the halfway stage, on 148, four shots behind the leader Curtis Griffiths (Wentworth)

In the girls event Connie Jaffrey is on 160, five shots behind the leader Amber Ratcliffe (Royal Cromer), who is on 155 after 36 holes.
