With the third round matches in the 2011 Ayrshire Fourball Championship due to be completed by 10th July, three of the eight quarter finalists are now known, after recent results were notified.At the top of the draw, Billy Pollock & Sandy Riddell (Skelmorlie) had a narrow 1 hole victory over their visitors James Graham & Marc Wallace (Doon Valley) in their third round clash and now await the winners of the match between Ardeer & Ayr Dalmilling, to whom they will play host in the quarter final.
At the bottom of the draw, Barry O'Rourke & Robert Nairn (Kilbirnie Place) face an away match against wither North Beach or Saxone, after securing their place in the last eight with a 4 & 3 away win against George Ross & Kevin Coupland (Malletsheugh).
In the other match notified so far, Iain & David MacDonald (Largs) had a 5 & 4 home win over Stevie McKnight & Gary Gorman (Troon Portland) and now face a home match against Abbotsford or Brnston Castle for a place in the semi finals.
