Euan Walker from Troon, now into his second year as a student at the University of Missouri, has turned in a very good performance on his first competitive outing of the US college circuit 2014-15 golf season.
Euan, pictured, finished tied fourth on one-over-par 217 (76-73-68) over a longish course of 7,105yd par 72.
His closing 68 was the lowest final round by anyone in the field of 57 players.
Missouri won the team title by 10 shots, not surprising as they had three players in the top five - Walker, winner by three shots Ryan Zech (74-69-70 for three-under 213), and another Missouri player, Wilson Sjndvold (71-72-74) who shared fourth place with the Scot on 217.
The tournament was the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate. To make any sense of that title you have to know that the Missouri University sports teams are the "Tigers" and Turning stone is a Golf Resort at Verona in New York State, hence the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate.
