Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) has succesfully qualified for the matchplay stages of the 2011 US Amateur Championship, being played this week at Erin Hills Golf Club in Wisconsin.After a weather delay in his second round, Stewart finished the two qualifying rounds on 141, one under par, to qualify in 49th place of the 64 matchplay qualifiers. The qualifying cut fell one shot further back on 142.
In the frst round of matchplay, Stewart faces the 13th qualifier, Justin Thomas, from Goshen, Kentucky.
