SCOTTISH SENIORS CHAMPIONSHIP - Fulker three ahead aftr first round

Former Ayrshire Matchplay and Champion Of Champions Trophy winner Robbie Fulker (Kilmarnock Barassie) is the early leader of the Scottish Seniors Championship, being played this week at Irvine (Bogside).

In the first round on Wednesday, Fulker posted a one under par score of 70 to take a three shot lead into day two.

Three other Ayrshire players lie joint fifth on 74 (+3), David Brown (Irvine Ravenspark), David J. Miller (Kilmarnock Barassie) and Alan Harrington (Western Gailes).

Gordon Mair (Irvine) lies one shot further back on 75 (+4)

The field will play a further 18 holes on Thursday with the top 40 players, and ties, will play a further 18 holes on Friday to decide the championship.
