The historic Girvan Boys Golf Championship, which was the traditional opener to the Boys Open circuit in Ayrshire for many years, has been cancelled.
Organiser Jim Crawford advises
"It is regretful but the Girvan Boys (Grants Cup and Nick Price Trophy) has had to be cancelled due to insufficient interest or entrants. We moved it a week later this year to try and get more players than last year but this did not make a difference".
Discussions will take place later in the year to decide if the event will be resurrected for next year.
