AYRSHIRE FOURBALL CHAMPIONSHIP - Quarter final line up completed


The quarter final line up fo the 2010 Ayrshire Fourball Championship has been completed this week.

Robert Cruickshanks & David Gilmour (Moorpark) will play host to John Brodie & Alan Smeeton (Chase). The Moorpark pair had a 3 & 2 win over Craig & Scott Hillis (Irvine) at the Bogside course to reach the last eight whilst The Chase pair beat Scott & Jim Brown (Girvan) by 2 & 1.

Two time finalists Scott McCahill & David Wallace (Maybole) had a 6 & 5 home win over Alex Hughes & Robert Kane (Auchenharvie) and are now at home to James Anderson & Ross McCrorie (Loudoun) in the quarter finals. The Loudoun duo won by 4 & 3 against Andrew Mathieson & John Murdoch (Ballochmyle) at Ballochmyle to reach the last eight.

In the bottom half of the draw, Johnny O'Neill & Gary Ross (North Beach)beat Stuart Lawrie & Paul Miller (Ayr Dalmilling) by 2 & 1 to book a home match in the quarter final against Andy Reid & Craig Murdoch (Ayr Carrick) who beat Stevie Arrandale & Richard Tait (Tam O Shanter) by 3 & 2 in their third round tie.

Alastair Brown & Roger Thyne (Kilmarnock Barassie), who beat Michael & Stephen Holland (Troon Welbeck) by 2 & 1 in the last round, now face a home quarter final match against Andrew Stewart & Martin Scott (Irvine Ravenspark), who booked their place in the last eight with a 3 & 2 home win over Lee & Dale McBurnie (Kilbirnie Place).

All quarter final matches are due for completion by 8th August 2010.
